2025 DBL ALL STAR EVENTS
3pt Contest:
Each team will have one participant from their team shoot a total of five shots per five spots around the arc, with the first four being worth one point, and the last shot of every spot being worth two points. The player can then shoot one “4 pointer” anywhere around the arc, for three points. The maximum amount of points awarded if a player were to make every shot would be 33 total points. Top 3 highest totals advance to the final round, where the same process repeats. If there is a tie, the winner will be determined by shooting shots from “the rock.” First to make a shot, with a match in play for the opponent, will win. The winner of this event earns a full win to their team's regular season record.
Dunk Contest:
Each team will have one participant from their team attempt a fancy dunk to impress the judges. In the first round, all ten participants will have a total of three tries to make their dunk. There is only one “dunk” per player per round. There will be a total of five judges, each scoring the dunk on a 1-10 scale. The maximum score a player could get would be 50. Top five scores from the first round advance to the second round. The process repeats, and the top two scores from the second round advance to the third and final round. Lay ups receive instant scores of “1.” The winner of this event earns a full win to their team's regular season record.
KOTC:
Each team will have one participant from their team play a very quick match of a modified “1 on 1” against participants from other teams. The way this will work is, the order of players in the line will be decided by random draw out of a hat, once this is established, the offensive player will have the ball rolled out to them by the defensive player and will have 10 seconds to score. No dribble limit, but there is a one shot limit. If the offensive player scores, he must get a defensive stop to win the match against said player to move on to the next player. Regardless of whether you start on offense or defense, to win most matches you must pair a score with a defensive stop. The line keeps moving up after players that win the match head to the back of the line. It is double elimination. Once a player loses two matches, he is out of the event. If a player makes a 4 point shot, the matchup ends abruptly, and the player that had the 4 pointer scored on them automatically loses the matchup. A winner of the event is determined when all others have lost two matches. The winner of this event earns a full win to their team's regular season record.
Knockout:
Each of the 10 twelve teams will select a player from their team to participate in a simple game of knockout, starting at the free throw line. Once 5 contestants are remaining, the line will begin at the three-point line. With only 3 contestants remaining, the line is scooted back to the four-point line. The 10 contestants will try to knock each other out until a winner is decided. The winner of this event earns a full win to their team's regular season record.
Rising Stars Game:
The rising stars game will consist of 12 total players. The 12 players will be split amongst four teams of 3. This game will be in a shoot-out format; 20 minutes long, no half time, and you are allowed two timeouts. Clock doesn’t stop for anything but timeouts and dead balls in the final minute of play. With there only being 3 players to a team, substitutions are irrelevant. All four teams will play in a first round, single elimination game. Winning teams advance to the final Rising Stars period of play where the same deal applies. Captains of this Rising Stars game are to be determined. They will draft their teams in snake format, before the event. If the game ends in a tie, it will go to a 2 minute overtime. If it is still tied, it will go to sudden death, no matches. The winners of this event earn a full win to their team's regular season record. (DBL '25: N/A)
All-Star Game:
The All-Star Game(s) is going to be a little different this year. The commission advocated for a total of 16 All-Stars. With that being said, these 16 players will be split into four teams of four with the captains of said teams to be determined. They will draft their teams in snake format before the event. With 4 players on each team, substitutions will be made every five minutes. All four teams will play in a first round, single elimination game at 20 minutes length, no halftime, 2 timeouts per team. Clock only stops for a timeout or dead balls under 1 minute. The two teams that win advance to the final All-Star period of play where it is the same deal, 20 minutes length, no halftime, 2 timeout per team. Clock only stops for a timeout or dead balls under 1 minute. If the game ends in a tie, it will go to a 2 minute overtime. If it is still tied, it will go to sudden death, no matches.
